Colorado Community College System: Webmaster and Social Media Specialist

CCCS is currently seeking a full time Webmaster and Social Media Specialist. This position?s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serving as Webmaster of cccs.edu, go.cccs.edu, conferencecenter.cccs.edu, newswire.coloradocommunitycolleges.com and coloradocommunitycolleges.com/connections/wp/?
  • Ensuring websites and digital communications provide an optimal experience to smart phone and tablet users
  • Ensuring our sites have effective Search Engine Optimization
  • Maintaining our interactive database of college programs on go.cccs.edu
  • Leading and/or executing the migration of cccs.edu to a content management system and teaching staff to use such content management system
  • Periodically reporting on web and social media analytics
  • Creating content such as writing posts or articles and creating short videos for the system office?s social media channels and electronic newsletters and communications
  • Managing the system office?s presence through Twitter, Facebook, You Tube and LinkedIn and other strategically relevant online channels
  • Monitoring traditional and social media posts about the system and its colleges, keeping management aware of potential problematic issues and periodically reporting on how the system and its colleges are being regarded in social media
  • Repurposing the best social media content of our 13 colleges for the system?s social media channels
  • Programing a bi-monthly Web Professionals meeting for the colleges to share and learn about best practices and seek resolution, as requested, to challenges facing web/social media communicators at the colleges
  • Procuring effective adwords and other digital advertising as requested

Position Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree.? Additional experience similar to that described above, which is beyond the required years of experience, will be accepted year for year in lieu of the degree.
  • This position also requires two years of professional website design and social media experience. Social media experience will be considered if it is demonstrated that your experience includes effectively and frequently using social media to enhance the public?s regard and/or customer-patronage of an organization or cause.
  • Experience with WordPress or other content management systems is required.
  • Experience with MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Microsoft Office Suite, HTML5, ASP, VB Classic, PHP, JQuery, XML or similar, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator is preferred.?

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to plan strategically
